As a parent, we always wish to give the kids the best. When come to choose formula milk, I believe most of you also headache on which to choose.

My Chloe currently consuming Dumex Dugro while Ryan is on Enfagrow A+.

Last week, Ryan is having diarrhoea and thus we went to buy a small tin of Similac LH for him. When we were there at the chinese medical hall, we asked the shop owner what is the different in between all the famous formula milk. He told us Enfagrow is now not as good as before they changed it. Wyeth is better quality if compare to Enfagrow. Why?

He told us, after MJ add 4X DHA, they already take out SA and ARA. If you notice the new packing clealy, they don't stated there any SA or ARA anymore. He told us they are using animal fat instead of plant fat to make the milk now. Animal protein/fat is more diffucult to absorb by the kids. He said animal protein/fat is cheap range of nutricient but they are selling it at expensive branded price.

I checked online at MJ webside today, when i click on their nutricient fact, the SA and ARA is still there in the list for Enfagrow A+.

I am now confused if Enfagrow A+ is good or Wyeth Gold better??

Do you have any idea?

thanks for this posting Sh, :D am still considering which brand, as wanted to change for my son too. i think this 4 x DHA makes them poo more? "easy digest" really makes them digest too much i guess., hehehehe

maybe it's time to change formula for Ryan.. too many brands in da market.. i also confuse. before this, my gals took Snow. but after 1 yr old, we changes to Dutch Lady n they seems dun like da taste. we change it back to Snow 1-3 but they got poo poo hard. So after few changes, they now stick to Mamil Gold step 3.

u can try to get some samples let Ryan try whether he's suitable with it. some say pedisure is good but my fren's dotter dun like it.. so it really depands on the individual. hope u find a suitable 1 for Ryan :)

Yes I going to change to other brand too. New range Enfagrow cause C got hard stool and constipation. Bought Mamil gold which contain IMMUNOFORTIS that benefit the stomach and for soft stool bowel movement. Yet to try it as the current formula still got plenty.

sorry SH! can't help on this coz both my boys are with wheth since born.

may be what you can do is browsing their websites & find out. for better idea, why not you call them up, both enfa & wyeth & see what their representative said, then only make a decision.

ya SH, it seems many mummy are using 'Dumex' products??
for pediasure, i find it very expensive lerrr, if the kid always like to waste milk (like my son), it seems heartache to use Pediasure lor.

it's very individual, some kids might very suit to certain brand but not ur kids. better survey thru their nutrition list then ask for sample and try it.. never try never know..

all those recomend brand for constipation NEVER help on my boy... ^_^

after posted it, make me recall something too.
Kady after started the Enfa new 4X, she poo very frequent, at least 2 times a day for continuos 4 days, today's look ok already as she didn't poo early in the morning already...

Pediasure is better suit for those babies who dun like solid food, depend solely on milk for nutrient.
Dr will also advice to take pediasure if baby under weight or lack of nutrient.

get the sample from their paed, normally they have those sample in small tin @ 400gm or 450gm...

SH with only 2 packings, cannot see the difference wan, the sample is to try our kids whether can accept the new taste? if can, only buy one tin to try the result

But i think Kady love the milk more recently, not sure the taste has also change?
Young is now consuming Enfagrow 4X too, but he has no problem at all.

Vivian, i seldom let my kids drink flavour milk, will only give them original.
I never taste the milk before, no idea if they are sweeter.

i heard one lady told me b4, she said she let her son drink Enfagrow honey taste and can poo easily compare to those original one.. Actually I also prefer original.

Wyneth, immunofortis is to build stronger immune system. So that kids not easily fall sick. Guess that is nothing to do with constipation?

adrina on wyeth Prgress since 1yr old. She ok with that. No enfa can be found in this country lor. I doubt u can find it in any Enfa in other country beside Msia, Singapore, Phillipines, Brunei.

* when i'm back in Msia.. i wanted to get the new Enfa for adrina to try but my sister(no kid) ask me not to believe in the 4xdha... not good for kid. Well, i'm not sure la but i only get one to try. She prefer DUMEX dugro with cereal. And now i can see she got more "isi"

PM, i hv oso let Ashley to try Pediasure choc flavour when she was abt 1.5 yo but she rejected it oso after i bought a 900 gm during d Guardian sales. So i continued wz her similac/EyeQ till she is abt 2.5yo i try again wz Pediasure vanila but dis time she is OK wz it! So i started to giv her Pediasure till now loh. In between i hv tried Enfagrow n she loves it so i bought another 2 X1.8kg tin during sales but alas she rejected it after finished wz 1/2 tin of d 1st tin! ..... she asked for her 'nice nen nen' again which is d pediasure. I thot i can save a bit of $ by changing to Enfa but...... my 'boss' has changed her mind pulak....

I switched Emily fr Enfa to Anmum Essential due to the increase in price, i don really agree in them saying adding this & that & bring up de price. I dono why in my mind, Wyeth is quite good, but heard is heaty. U may ask Alice for more info, coz she's 100% Wyeth loyal supporter :p
** She's now not so active in M, coz she bz voting her Yu Xuan ^_^

Peimun, Isomil is not cow milk, it is purely soya right?
Not many kids can take Isomil, it taste diff.

As I blogged earlier.. kids were on Enfa and now moved to Dugro. So far so good. Cheaper and no problem so I am sticking to this for now :) Hehehe.

Yes SH... now both are on Dugro already :D So far so good. Both love the milk. Even Glenn said he prefers Dugro taste compared to Enfa wor. So Mommy and Daddy very happy!!! Get good milk, cheaper price and kids love it :)

I switch my girl formula from Enfa to Fernleft.At first ok,but after 2nd package,she poo poo become hard & greenish color.No choice back to Enfa.But will try Anmum Essential,but now at market only got Honey flavour.I think they are clearing stock.So have to wait loh! And Anmum gift look very attractive too. :P

anyone tested how high is breastmilk's DHA?

another factor to consent is that, whether the body absorbing as much as 4XDHA or not. just like iron in spinach, supplements in multi-vitamins, individually absorption is different.

i would still think to focus in encouraging hy's solid.

Agree with that, PC Lee. Not everybody can absorb as much as 4XDHA.
The formula which have DHA was heaty already, after taken 4X DHA, i believe not everyone can absorb it. If not absorb, then will easy to get sick.

I am giving Chloe Enfagrow 1-3 and Cate's on S26 Gold. SO far so good. As far as what the chinese med hall ppl telling u what has been taken out, I am not sure unless he really did a research on it :p Haha..Anyway, Chloe seems fine to me and I don't see why I should be changing her formula as long as she is ok with it. I think the most important thing is we are giving them a healthy and balanced diet which inclides a good source of calcium.
